I have released what will probably be the first public version of FocusGTD3 to my registered testers. I have been cleaning up layout issues and giving the app an overall polish, updating the documentation, the website and the playstore pages.
In other words I am getting ready to the public release! Yay!
I have been working on this version for over a year and I really can’t wait to get it out of the door.
I am sorry for all of you who have been eagerly awaiting a version that is compatible with OmniFocus3 and thank you for your patience.
As stated above I have released a version to the testers today and will wait for 2-3 days to see if it causes any issues with them. If not then expect a public release latest by the weekend.
I have been on vacation for the past 2 weeks and havent been able to make much progress. However, most of the known issues are fixed and I will be adding a few more testers in the next few days. I am hoping that most of the problems are shaken out by now and a public release is approaching rapidly (hopefully in the next 2-4 weeks).
Long time, no see. I am still quite busy working on defects found in the alpha testing. Currently most of the “normal” features work quite ok, however, some more complicated features (repeating projects, …) still show problems.
I am slowly churning through those before, I will be adding new testers.
Happy holidays! As we are progressing towards the end of the year I was busy working on FocusGTD. I have received the first bug reports and already fixed most outstanding issues.
I will now gradually add more testers as the app matures.
I have added the first couple of brave testers and they have been busy reporting issues. I have stopped accepting new testers for now since I don’t want everyone to run into the same problems and me being overwhelmed with identical bug reports.
As FocusGTD3 gets more robust and stable I will add more testers.
I have finished most of the work required for FocusGTD3 (except for the big UI rework, but I will postpone this in order to finally get Omnifocus 3 support out of the door).
FocusGTD3 will be a new app / purchase. I know, this will not be popular but I have been supporting FocusGTD1/2 for approx 5 years with free updates and even though it might not be visible on the UI, FocusGTD3 is a huge rewrite of the whole underlying application backend.
Since many people have already offered their help in testing the new version, I want make use of this offer. I will open 10-20 testing slots for FocusGTD3.
So you are feeling brave and want to help getting FocusGTD3 out? Thats awesome!
Please note that FocusGTD3 is still in active development and not all features of the app might work properly.
It might loose/corrupt your data or cause other kinds of mischief (brick your phone, eat your dog or cause bad weather, …).
It should be good enough for simple task modifications.
So be sure to keep enough backups of your data in Omnifocus to make sure you wont loose anything.
In other words, you are using this verison at your own risk.
To sign up for testing please send me an email to support <at> focusgtdapp.com with the subject “TEST_SIGNUP”.
‼️Please note that I can only enable email addresses from gmail or google apps for the test (Google Play limitation).
Also note that I already have a number of testers enabled yet, as I am fixing the first reports I will add more testers over time.
I have released a bugfix update for FocusGTD2 to the tester group. This release fixes the issue where changes to a repeated tasks schedule were not properly saved and synched.
If no issues pop up the release will be made public within the next 2 days.
