Focus GTD for Android

GTD_Android

What is it?

A GTD application that can sync with OmniFocus for Mac and iOS. It is in no way connected to OmniGroup (although I did ask if they were ok with it).

What is the current status?

After a lot of work I have finally published the first public version of FocusGTD. It is now live on the Google Play Store.

FocusGTD is a GTD application on Android that synchronizes with Omnifocus(*) and Omnifocus2(*) on the Mac and iOS. It will manage your tasks, projects, contexts in your pocket and remind you when actions become due.

Features:

  • Manage your tasks in Projects and process them based on  Contexts.
  • Get reminded on tasks when they are due
  • Synchronize with Omnifocus(*) on Mac or iOS using OmniSync Server (*) or your own WebDAV share.
  • Quickly create tasks into your inbox and process them later when you have time.

* FocusGTD is in now way related to OmniGroup.

Also I have created a web site where I plan to put FAQs etc in there: http://focusgtdapp.com.

There is also a support community on Google+ in case you have questions or feature requests.

If you are already in the testers group and like FocusGTD I would be grateful about constructive reviews on the Play Store. I plan to continue enhancing the application with new features. Also please use the community to provide feedback and get support in case you run into problems.

Where can I learn more?

The initial post on the app contains quite a lot of useful information: Here

  1. Hey there! Been reading your blog. I’m a big Apple and Omnifocus user and recently switched from an iPhone to a Droid. I really miss Omnifocus on my phone and would love to be one of your testers on Focus GTD. Please tell me how I can sign up. Looking forward to hearing back! Murch

  2. Hi,

I’m a long time Android fan, but also an avid user of Omnifocus for Mac. I’ve tried Evernote for the last few months and really haven’t been that happy with it. With the return of OF2 beta a few weeks ago I decided to move to that. And of course along with that comes my frequent quest for an effective Android/Omnifocus solution.

Anyway, I’d like to sign up as a tester, but the links to the page seem to be broken. It looks like your permalinks got reset to post-id (i.e. this page is /?page_id=430), and all the links are text URLs.

The email listed here is my G+ account, please add me to the potential tester list.

  3. I am one of your registered testers. I have upgraded my phone but am unable to access the app. Can you help me.
    Thanks

  4. Fantastic work Rainer with the last update a couple weeks ago the sync is working perfectly. Well done! I hope you keep a good relationship with the folks from omni group as this is the best solution for android devices. Btw I’m using this on the blackberry Z30 and it works great.

  5. Hi
I’ve looked at your app on the Play Store

Nice job, but…. it’s Flat Design time now 🙂

The overall look of main icon and your app are great, but your Projects and Context icons are note in phase with your app’s look and with the current design trends.

    Just my 0,002 cent 🙂

  6. Purchased it and seen your icons are now flat style. Great !

You should update the screen captures on the Play Store.

I have now my Omnifocus data on my Android, and a very well made inbox. Happy !

  7. Hi Rainer, I keep having syncing issues with focus gtd, I sm running version 1.043. I’ve had to delete the database a few times because it stops syncing with the omniserver. Any ideas. Running app in blackberry Z30.
